Executive Director
Mr. Ram Prasad Dhital is the Executive Director at Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC). AEPC, under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment is the focal organization for promotion and development of Renewable Energy Technologies in Nepal. Ram is an expert in Renewable Energy development with over 16 years of experience in ensuring efficient and effective implementation of off grid energy projects in Nepal, Afghanistan and Vanuatu. He started his career with Rural Energy Development, a program of UNDP in Nepal, as an Engineer for 2 years and District Energy Advisor for 1.5 years. He also worked as Renewable Energy Expert for National Areas Based Development Program of UNDP in Afghanistan for 2 years, where he developed feasibility study guidelines and business plans for community-based micro hydro power projects. He also worked as the Rural Energy Technical Advisor in an AusAID supported program with the Energy Unit of the Government of Vanuatu to enhance rural livelihoods.
Mr. Dhital has a master’s degree in Renewable Energy from the University of Oldenburg Germany and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Institute of Engineering Pulchowk Campus, Nepal. He is a PhD Candidate in Sustainable Energy at Institute of Engineering Pulchowk Campus.
