Natural Resources Management Officer (Energy), Climate, Energy and Tenure Division
Andreas Thulstrup works as a Natural Resources Management Officer with the Climate, Energy and Tenure Division in FAO at their headquarters in Rome. Andreas coordinates FAO’s work on SAFE and, together with other members of the FAO SAFE team, is responsible for developing SAFE tools, guidelines, strategies and programmes which address the fuel and energy needs of crisis-affected populations. Andreas has participated in FAO missions to Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Vietnam and Myanmar to carry out fuel needs assessments, resource mobilization and coordination of activities with partners. Prior to joining FAO in 2012, Andreas carried out research on the social and environmental implications of the expansion of household plantation forests in Vietnam and has published several peer-reviewed articles on the topic.
